About Us
MEXICAN COMPANY SINCE 1943. We have been providing our Mexico Abalone around the world for over 80 years. GRANDE® Abalone has been rated #1 BEST TASTING ABALONE in Europe and Mexico by multiple newspapers. Now we share the great taste in Singapore. Our company was the first supplier and distributor of Mexico Abalone in the world. With 80 years of experience catching Mexico's largest abalone and employing generations of fishermen who dive to the deepest seas in Mexico to bring you the most sought after seafood in the world. We are honoured to be part of family dinners in Mexico, Europe, and now Asia. This is why our divers only select the largest and healthiest Abalone found in Mexico so you can rest assured that you are giving your family the best and largest Abalone available.
Michelin-Star Chef VAL CANTU
GRANDE® Abalone has been selected by Michelin-Star chef Val Cantu to create his prized dishes at his California restaurant CALIFORNIOS. With Grande Abalone you can bring a taste of a Michelin-Star restaurant taste to your family.
1 Abalone
1 Decade
In order to select the largest Abalone with the best taste and texture we have our divers swim to the deepest areas where the largest Abalone can be found. It takes an average of 10 years for an abalone to reach its mature age and size. Our divers return small abalone to the sea to allow them to achieve their full growth and size.
Diving with Sharks
Why is abalone from Mexico so scarce? Because it is the largest abalone in the world which has to be manually caught by fishermen. Divers wear scuba diving gear and swim alone to the depths of the sea while fending off sharks and enduring cold and rough waters. Restrictions on fishing abalone are strictly enforced in Mexico and fishermen are able to catch abalone during 6 months per year. Climate change has also negatively impacted the global abalone population, leaving Mexico as the only region to sustain the largest abalone in the world.
World Class Top Quality
Today only a small amount of abalone in the world is fresh from the sea (5%), and only 1% comes from Mexico. The largest abalone in the world and most desirable comes from the coast of Baja California, Mexico. Abalone from this region is known to be the World Class Top Quality abalone due to its size and succulent taste. GRANDE® Abalone grows in the deep ocean and is Wild-Caught. In our 80 years of operation we have never used farms which have shown to restrict the growth of abalone and effect the taste.
5% for Charity in Singapore
